They said, AI will take my job soon - it WON'T, because I am a skilled negotiator.

How many times have you heard that AI will take our jobs? Most likely you have heard at least once that artificial intelligence (AI), or as some people now call it, Super Intelligence (SI), will take our jobs. This claim has made many people feel uneasy because we all have families to feed, mortgages to pay and dreams to fulfil. But then you wake up in the morning, get your family ready, go to work, get to your office desk and look around. What do you see? Nothing has really changed over the past 5 years. People who were here yesterday, they are here today. Maybe your mailbox is now more crowded with internal emails from people who struggled to write one paragraph but now write the entire War and Peace in every email. Pseudo-experts keep talking about trendy topics they watched in reels last night. Everything seems normal... then again, you get this annoying feeling in the back of your mind: what if those predictions are right and a job apocalypse is coming? How can I remain relevant to the market?

Solution .. talk to people outside your social circle. The more people you talk to, the merrier, as it will help you understand what to do next. You have multiple avenues to explore, but no matter what you do, you will need to negotiate. Many people feel uncomfortable when someone mentions negotiation. What if we told you that negotiating is simply a conversation between two people trying to find common ground? Interested now? Then consider what you want and identify who you need to speak with. It could be your boss, a friend, a mentor, a company representative, or even a complete stranger.

But first, grab a pen and paper to prepare for your conversation. Formulate what you want to achieve and what questions to ask about your counterpart’s ideas, struggles, dreams, and the solutions they might be seeking. Think about objections you might get and how you'll respond. Finally, book a meeting and SHOW UP. Enjoy it and be curious about what you can discover. The insights will surprise you and make you action-ready. If you haven’t done something like this before, it’s okay. You are already on your journey, and this is awesome!
